Mid Sept. time frame
“Beautiful,l I didn’t catch your name and can I get your number.”
Jon smiled and handed her his card as well, “Will you text me when you get home so I know you got there safely? You may trust public transit but I’m not a fan just yet.”
Serena smiled up at the hot, distinguished, grey haired man, standing before her in some very nice fitting blue jeans, a greenish/grey button down shirt and a brown leather jacket. Damn he looked good but she frowned as she heard the train over her head. “Damn it, that was my train.”
“Isn’t there another one in like 10 minutes?” He asked getting her to her feet.
“Not at this time of night Jon, the next one isn’t for 30 minutes.”
“OH,” He smiled shyly looking at the ground and then back up to her. “So you know me.”
“Yes.” She didn’t make a big deal out of it, she didn’t want him to run away this was too exciting.
She just met Jon Bon Jovi on the streets of Chicago at 1115 at night. Holy crap. “So what are you doing in Chicago, trying to buy the Bears?” She asked having heard that his purchase of the BIlls didn’t go too well.
“Ouch that was cruel.” He growled at her.
“Not really Chicago might sell you them cheap - they suck.” Serena laughed walking over to the train stop.
He put his hand on the small of her back as she walked up to the train platform. “So you know football?” He asked hopefully.
“Nope, I know of it, I lived in WI for 17 years its one of the three laws there. One must like beer, one must like cheese and one must deal with the Packers.”
He laughed, “So you’d be a bad girlfriend then, and not allow the game?”
“Wow I went from running into you to a girlfriend already - you’re a pretty fast mover buddy.”
“Hey I’m just checking for future reference.” He smirked with that smile thats made millions of women ready for sex instantly.
“OH well in that case, I can tell you that I’d be pretty ok with the game as long as I was entertained too.”
“How so?”
“I can’t tell all of my secrets in the first 20 minutes?” I smiled as the train pulled up.
“Looks like my way home is here.”
She smiled, handing him her business card. “Its Serena.”
“Sure Jon, it was nice running into you.” She smiled scanning her Metra card and walking onto the train. Once she took a seat she waved to him and off she went.
Once the train was in motion I looked down at his business card. I let myself have my 5 minutes of OMG its JBJ in my head and then I calmed down, he’s just a guy after all that has a killer job and that I’ve lusted over for 30 yrs. Oh Lawrd help me. I thought. The card was in portait layout unlike the typical landscape style cards, which already made it original and unique in my eyes. The white card was embellished with all gold on the front, a bar or two of music notes floated whimsically from one side of the card to the other. Across the front near the bottom in the most devine script were the words :
Jon Bon Jovi
Turning it over in her hands she saw line after line of black text broken up in to three distinct sections.

“Wow” I breathe as I read through all the stuff on the back of his card. Its busy, and jam packed but also very cool that he included it all because it makes people realize he’s way more than a pretty face and a hot body. I stood up from the train and exited swiftly stashing his card and my phone in my laptop case before hitting the street. I am smart enough to know that in downtown Chicago you don’t walk with your head down or phone out. You walk with a purpose and a direction. Once I reach my building I show my entrance ID to my doorman and walk in. The daytime doorman stands outside and greets most people by name, he doesn’t know mine yet but I’m still relatively new. The night time doorman stands inside and captures people in the entrance area between the two glass doors until he verifies they live there or he calls up and they are granted permission to buzz them up.
Once inside I open my phone and pull his business card back out, I punch in his number and send the text, *Jon I’m home, all good :)*
I got in the elevator and took it to the 42nd floor as I got off my phone chimed. I looked at the text *thanks for letting me know Serena, I never got to ask in person but will you go out with me? *
Loving this so far. Love your description of her shopping sprees for her new apartment and clothes. So now that she's run into Jon, what's their next step? Boy, how can I run into Jon, I live in Chicago, OK, well the suburbs. Close enough.
ReplyDeleteJon is such a gentleman. I would really hope that is how he is in real life. Can't say I know of a man that would ask me to call them when I get home to let them know I made it home safe.
ReplyDeleteIch kenne kaum Männer😅
